Timothy Gwyn John’s practice has been one which has evolved from an art based practice to one which is engaged in achieving a standard of excellence in the making of objects, predominantly furniture.
‘Through the process of making, the engagement with materials and the realisation of ideas I ask myself questions of what ‘craft’ is and its importance in contemporary culture.’ His journey to becoming a craftsperson has been about striving to achieve excellence in his work through making objects that provoke thought, sometimes a smile or just simply a table or a bench to be enjoyed.
